dpkg-repack software package provides puts an unpacked .deb file back together, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dpkg-repack
dpkg-repack is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dpkg-repack package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dpkg-repack *
You will get with dpkg-repack package name, version, architecture and description in a table
